The Pro-Life Committee of St. Edward Parish will again initiate a project to benefit Birthright of Central Westmoreland. In the church vestibule next weekend, January 14/15 there will be a display board with blue and yellow ducky?s. Printed on each ducky will be an item needed for new-born babies. Please consider taking a ducky or two, purchasing the items listed, and returning them unwrapped to the baskets that will be placed in the church vestibule by February 5th. Monetary donations will also be accepted (make checks payable to St. Edward Church, place in a plain envelope marked Pro-Life Committee). This is a perfect time to express your support to protect the right of every born and pre-born human being.
Any persons older than 7th Grade (adults and students) who have been baptized Catholic and are practicing their faith but have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation are invited to be Confirmed this year at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral by Bishop Malesic on Sunday, June 4th. Please call Kitty Topolosky in the Faith Formation office for information and registration at 724-446-5381
St. Edward has launched the new Parish App for iPhones and Android smart phones. This will allow us to better communicate with you throughout the week and keep you updated with relevant parish news or updates. It will be a great resource for parishioners by providing daily Mass readings, Catholic news and prayers, convenient prayer and Confession reminders, our bulletins and more. We hope for our new app to be a tool for fostering stronger parish life at St. Edward and better engaging the New Evangelization.
