Father John J. Harrold
Pastor
Our Pastor, Rev. John J. Harrold, was born on November 9, 1963. He is the son of the late Charles R. & Dorothy A. Harrold. Father John has one brother, David and three sisters, Mary Joyce, Jane and Peggy. A native of Greensburg and a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish, Father John attended Cathedral Grade School, Greensburg Salem High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in food service management. While a student at IUP, he was active at Newman Center, where he recognized his call to the priesthood. Father Harrold earned a master of divinity degree from Christ the King Seminary, East Aurora, N.Y., in 1992. He was ordained on May 16, 1992 in Greensburg. Father John served the parish of St. Rose, Latrobe as a Deacon, and the following parishes as a parochial vicar - St. Agnes, N. Huntingdon from 1992-1993; Mother of Sorrows, Murrysville from 1993-1996; St. John the Evangelist, Uniontown from 1996-1998; St. Bernard, Indiana from 1998-1999. Father Harrold’s first pastorate was St. Raymond of the Mountains Parish, Donegal where he served from 1999 until this present assignment in July, 2007. St. Edward Parish is Father John’s second pastorate. Father John enjoys bowling, skiing, golf, volleyball, woodworking, Renaissance Festivals, cards, and computers.
Glenda Sekerchak
Parish Business Manager and Administrative Secretary
Glenda has been the parish business manager and secretary since November, 1987. She resides in Irwin with her husband, Ron. Her daughter, Melissa, is an attorney for a Pittsburgh law firm. Melissa and her husband Jim reside in West Mifflin with their dog, Gunther. Her son, Ron Jr., is an elementary school teacher for the Southmoreland School District. Ron and his wife, Kelly and their son, Reese live in Youngwood. Glenda serves on the Parish Finance Council, Stewardship Committee, and is an Adult Advisor for Youth Ministry. In addition to her parish duties, Glenda serves as the Diocesan Secretary for Scouting in the Diocese of Greensburg. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her first grandchild Reese, along with camping and Ballroom Dancing.
Kitty Topolosky
Director of Faith Formation
Kitty resides in Monroeville with her husband Paul. She has her undergraduate degree from IUP and her Masters degree from PSU. Upon graduation she taught in Penn Hills until she had children, Lynn, Kristin, and Mark. She chose to be a stay at home Mom; substitute teaching at her convenience. In 1989, she returned to full time teaching at Saint Edward School until it closed in 2004. At that time, she was hired as Director of Faith Formation for the church. Kitty truly enjoys visiting her children: Lynn and Barry and their family – Samuel, Meredith and Benjamin in Philadelphia, Kristin and Scott and family – Jake, and Max in D.C., and her son Mark who resides in Atlanta, GA and travels extensively with his job. She also enjoys playing bridge, 500 Bid, reading and biking. Kitty lectors at her parish, North American Martyrs in Monroeville.
Tom Coyne
Director of Music Ministry
Thomas (Tom) Fitzgerald Coyne comes from a large Irish Catholic family and is very connected with his Irish heritage. Tom is the second child of four. He has two brothers, one sister, two nieces and one nephew. He resides in Munhall along with his mother. Tom began playing in church at the young age of twelve and has continued doing so into his adult life. Tom is devout in his Catholic faith and is a spiritual man who views his work as ministry. After attending grade school at Saint Mary Magdalene and high school at Bishop Boyle, Tom went on to study music at Palm Beach Junior College and Duquesne University. His areas of expertise: voice and piano. Some of Tom's other interests include Italian cooking, reading, movies and watching football. Tom is very interested in building upon the musical foundation built by his predecessors here at Saint Edward Parish. Tom enjoys what he does and has a deep desire to lead people into worship through song.
Lisa Arch
Faith Formation Secretary
Lisa was secretary for Saint Edward School from 1982 until its closure in 2004. In September of 2004, she was hired part time as Faith Formation secretary for the Church. She and her husband Larry moved to Madison in 1966, and then in 1969 to their present home in Herminie where they raised their 3 children. Lori and her husband Paul and their children Laurel and Lily Kate reside in Texas; Larry, manager of Herminie Auto Parts, lives in Herminie; and Lynsey, Pilates Director for the Verve resides in Pittsburgh. Presently, Lisa serves as a lector and is a member of the Finance Council and the Stewardship Committee.
