Ministries

​There are various ways parishioners can become involved in the life of their parish community. Liturgical ministries are one example of ways individuals can dedicate their time and talents to the celebration of Masses and special services. 

​Liturgical or Music Ministry​Description
Adult ServersAdults who s​er​ve at daily Mass, funerals and other occasions as needed.  Training is provided.
Altar ServersBoys and girls in third through eighth grade assist at Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Training is provided.
CantorsCantors are those individuals that lead the assembly in sung prayer at weekend liturgies and holy days.  Training is provided.
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at MassSelected, trained and commissioned parishioners who help distribute holy Communion at Mass. Training is provided and individuals must be 16 or older.
LectorsParishioners who proclaim the word of God during Mass and other liturgical celebrations as needed.  Training is provided and individuals must be 16 or older.
Liturgy and Decorating CommitteeCommittee members help to plan the decorations for the inside and outside of the church for various liturgies and liturgical seasons.
Liturgy of the Word CatechistAdults are trained and use a step-by-step program for celebrating the Liturgy of the Word with the children at designated Masses.
Liturgy of the Word Student AideStudents in sixth through twelfth grade assist the catechist of Liturgy of the Word in all areas as needed.
Masters of CeremonyYoung people (male or female) in ninth through twelfth grade who assist at Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Training is provided.
Parish ChoirMembers lead the congregation in sung prayer at one of the Masses each Sunday, and other celebrations (September through May). Rehearsals take place Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
Resurrection ChoirOpen to all adult members of the parish who are able to participate during funeral liturgies. The funeral choir members bring comfort and consolation to families who suffer the loss of a loved one. No practice sessions are scheduled and all voices are welcomed!
UshersUshers minister during Mass by assisting and greeting parishioners and guests. Ushers, who can be either male or female, are responsible for taking up the offertory collection, arrange for people to take up the offertory gifts when necessary, and hand out bulletins after Mass. They also provide assistance in emergency situations.
